The picture below shows an old version of the board. My board is pretty much like it.

To monitor the serial port output of the board, setup SecureCRT first(I can use Super Terminal in Windows XP as well. But SecureCRT is better). Run SecureCRT for the first time, a setup window pops up:

Select “Serial” for protocol, and other options as they are shown in the picture:

Connect the board and PC with serial extension cord, then turn the power on. After a few seconds, Linux(QT) is running on the board:

Now the problem is how I can share files in guest(Ubuntu 9.10) and host(Windows XP SP3) OS. To do this, I must install VMware tools in the guest OS. This is how I did it:

Power on the guest OS -> VMware Menu -> VM -> Install VMware tools…

And then copy the VMware Tools from the mounted iso to the temporary folder

cp /media/cdrom0/VMwareTools-8.1.4-227600.tar.gz /tmp/

Afterwards switch to the temporary folder and unpack the VMware Tools:

cd /tmp/
tar xvfz VMwareTools-8.1.4-227600.tar.gz

Next switch to the folder with the unpacked files:

cd vmware-tools-distrib/

and then execute the installer:
